I have not had the chance to be in a classroom yet, but I have a friend who is a third grade teacher. She used her SmartBoard to record how to write the alphabet in cursive. Her kids love playing and re-playing her recordings to learn how to write each letter on their own.

I have been in classrooms before, but only as a teaching assistant! In a 3rd and 4th grade special ed class, the kids worked out their math problems on the smart board. They love writing on it and it helped them a lot with their math skills!

Hey! Well since I haven’t had the chance to actually teach yet, I can’t say I’ve used anything cool in a classroom… but I am definitely hoping my future classroom has a smartboard because I think that would be so helpful and a great visual tool. We’ll see how this hypermedia project goes… that has potential too!

I created a powerpoint presentation about the water cycle. The kids went through the powerpoint on their own and completed a study guide on what they discovered. At the end they could choose from websites to play games about the water cycle. Having the students interact with powerpoint was much more fun than me reading it to them.

The most interesting piece of technology that I have used in a classroom has been the smartboard. It has all of the uses of the traditional blackboard with the interactivity of a computer.
