Kitchen Floor!

29 Sep

Yes it’s official.  It’s taken us 20 times as long to decide on a kitchen floor than it did to (find and) decide on a house.  Buuuutttt:  we gots a seexxxyyy floor!Isn’t it gorg? Here’s one that someone installed themselves:

We bought 7 boxes of the stuff to do our kitchen (about 150sf) for $296 (breaks down to $1.99sf – it was on sale!).  We also picked up the transition (T-molding) for between the laminate and our hardwood living room, as well as the quarter round for where the new floor butts up to things like the wall or counter (even though we have colonial baseboards – apparently that’s the thing to do).  Since the St. James Vintner’s Reserve comes with a pre-glued underlayment and is a ‘floating’ floor (it lays right on our plywood subfloor without any adhesive – just clicks together like magic!) we didn’t really need anything else.  And we’re even covered with tools because a wonderful friend is helping us out:)  I’ll be sure to keep you updated with lots of photos of the process!

Well don’t just sit there silly gooses –  what the heck do ya think!;)

We purchased it through Lumber Liquidators and couldn’t be happier with it. A handyman friend installed it and it’s too gorgeous for words! I’m posting pictures of it in our kitchen really soon:)
